00046 - Finnish Border Guard ,Finnish Border Guard is a paramilitary organization that acts under the Ministry of Interior during peacetime, but when shit is about to hit the fan, they will be put under control of the Ministry of Defence There's currently two Special Intervention Units within Border Guard: 5th and 7th units. Other one is naval unit and the other land unit. They were created in the early 90s to counter possible threats from the dissoluted USSR. Nowadays however their role changed to act mainly as CT, VBSS and DA units. Today, the Border Guard has two special forces units comprised of professional border guards. The 1st Special Intervention Unit operates under the Southeast Finland Border Guard District, while the 5th Special Intervention Unit operates under the Gulf of Finland Coast Guard District. Special response teams have been trained and equipped to deal with the Border Guard’s most challenging border security tasks across the whole territory of Finland. In addition, special intervention units can also be used to support other authorities.
